A podcast

about the history of unique places in Sydney’s inner west.

Why this podcast?

Sydney is famous all over the world for its glittering harbour, the Opera House, the Bridge, its stunning beaches …

You get the picture.

When I moved to inner west Sydney from Melbourne three years ago, I wasn’t anywhere near the famous stuff or the beaches.

But it was super clear that I was in a place that locals adore and are fiercely proud of.

I have to say, it wasn’t immediately obvious to me why the inner west is so well loved!! And so, I started a podcast to find out, and to get to know my new home as well 💜

How is this podcast made?

This format of this podcast is narrative non-fiction - one of the most time-consuming formats to make, and one of the most fun and creative too.

For NSW History Week 2022, I gave a workshop at Ashfield Library, Sydney, called “How to make a documentary podcast”, with Inner West Icons as the case study.
